چکیده

We explored the composition and roles of protein phosphatase 2C (PP2C) family in Paulownia fortunei. The genome P. fortunei harbored 91 PfPP2C genes, encoding proteins with 120–1107 amino acids (molecular weight range, 13.51–124.81 kDa). PfPP2Cs were distributed 12 subfamilies, 1–15 per subfamily. number types conserved structure domains differed among PP2Cs, but distribution motifs within each subfamily was similar, main motif being 3, 16, 13, 10, 2, 6, 12, 4, 14, 1, 18, 8. genes had 2 to 20 exons. There ABA-response elements promoters 42 response phytohormones, stress other genes. A covariance analysis revealed that gene fragment duplication has played an important role evolution family. significant differences transcript levels some affected by witches’ broom (PaWB) after treatment rifampicin methyl methanesulfonate. PfPP2C02, PfPP2C12, PfPP2C19, PfPP2C80 strongly related PaWB. These findings provide a foundation for further studies on PP2Cs

Genome-Wide Identification, Phylogenetic and Expression Analyses of the Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme Gene Family in Maize

BACKGROUND Ubiquitination is a post-translation modification where ubiquitin is attached to a substrate. Ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes (E2s) play a major role in the ubiquitin transfer pathway, as well as a variety of functions in plant biological processes. To date, no genome-wide characterization of this gene family has been conducted in maize (Zea mays). METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS In t...

Bioinformatics Genome-Wide Characterization of the WRKY Gene Family in Sorghum bicolor

The WRKY gene family encodes a large group of transcription factors that regulate genes involved in plant response to biotic and abiotic stresses. Sorghum is a notable grain and forage crop in semi-arid regions because of its unusual tolerance against hot and dry environments. We identified a set of 85 WRKY genes in the S. bicolor genome and classified them into three groups (I–III). Among the ...

Transcriptome-Wide Profiling and Expression Analysis of Diploid and Autotetraploid Paulownia tomentosa × Paulownia fortunei under Drought Stress

Paulownia is a fast-growing deciduous hardwood species native to China, which has high ecological and economic value. In an earlier study, we reported ploidy-dependent differences in Paulownia drought tolerance by the microscopic observations of the leaves. Autotetraploid Paulownia has a higher resistance to drought stress than their diploid relatives. In order to obtain genetic information on ...

Genome-Wide Identification, Evolutionary and Expression Analyses of the GALACTINOL SYNTHASE Gene Family in Rapeseed and Tobacco

Galactinol synthase (GolS) is a key enzyme in raffinose family oligosaccharide (RFO) biosynthesis. The finding that GolS accumulates in plants exposed to abiotic stresses indicates RFOs function in environmental adaptation. However, the evolutionary relationships and biological functions of GolS family in rapeseed (Brassica napus) and tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) remain unclear. In this study, w...

The auxin response factor gene family in banana: genome-wide identification and expression analyses during development, ripening, and abiotic stress

Auxin signaling regulates various auxin-responsive genes via two types of transcriptional regulators, Auxin Response Factors (ARF) and Aux/IAA. ARF transcription factors act as critical components of auxin signaling that play important roles in modulating various biological processes. However, limited information about this gene family in fruit crops is currently available. Herein, 47 ARF genes...
